In addition to those settings accessed via the application menu, all other user-defined settings are found under the Settings tab. All user settings will be retained across invocations and power-up of the application.

To change any of the current settings, select the Edit Settings button in the lower left of the form. Once selected, different portions of the form will activate for editing.

User preference settings under Desktop Deliver include:

• Deliver alerts to desktop controls whether or not to deliver alerts to your desktop, checked, or "on", is the default
   
• Popup Location designates where the alert popup window should be located on your desktop (upper right, upper left, lower right, lower left) and whether or not to animate the display of the alert window.
   
• Test Location serves to perform a test display of the current setting before committing the change by selecting the Save Changes button.
   

User preference settings pertaining to E-mail Delivery, include

• Deliver a daily e-mail digest controls whether or not to deliver a summary of headlines received throughout the day to you via e-mail, unchecked, or "off", is the default.
   
• E-mail text field is used to specify where you want the alert digest sent. This may or may not be the same e-mail address of record per your registration with BusinessWeek.
   
• Format is used to specify the preferred format of your alert digests, HTML (default) or text-based.
