Account information such as your Login Options and Proxy Settings (if applicable) are located under the Account tab.

By default, the application is designed to auto-launch upon startup of the computer and display until closed, running as an unobtrusive background process awaiting any incoming alerts.


Default settings under Login Options include:

  • Remember my account info, allows the application to retain the User name and Password information. This permits not having to enter the User name / Password pair each time to log in.
     
  • Automatically log me in, which allows the application to launch without querying to Connect at log in.
     
  • Start application on reboot, which allows the application to auto-launch upon restart / startup of your computer.
     


Some networks (LANs) or Internet service providers (ISPs) employ proxy servers in connecting to the Internet. Proxy servers ensure all inbound/outbound Internet traffic go through one or more particular set of machines.

Common proxy server configurations will be automatically identified and set up by the client application. If you rely on proxy authentication, however, you'll need to specify the following information under the Proxy Settings section:

  • Use proxy authentication checkbox enables the text entry of proxy account information
     
  • Proxy User ID and Password text entry boxes to specify your proxy account information
     


If you attempt to launch the client without the necessary proxy account values, you will most likely get the following error:

If for any reason, you need to modify your BusinessWeek account settings, please select the Modify BusinessWeek Profile button.

This will bring up the BusinessWeek Manage Your Account Web page to change your contact information and/or your subscription information.
